Graphic Consulting Group is a group of retired and semi-retired printing company executives and senior managers whom have dedicated their lives to the printing industry and its betterment. Now, you can benefit from their collective expertise.
Together, they have over 80 years of experience in printing company management, and have dealt with virtually every conceivable problem you might encounter – and developed workable solutions to all those problems.
Led by R. Scott Poole, principal consultant, our areas of expertise include: management techniques and practices, personnel management, hourly rates, cost accounting, estimating, planning, scheduling, customer service, plant layout and workflow, quality control and assurance, statistical process controls (TQM) techniques and training, marketing strategies, and improving sales performance.
Scott brings many years of experience in the printing industry. Raised in a family of printers, after college he took a job as production manager of a small pre-press/printing company while taking evening graduate courses in business mangement. Seven years later, he bought his own printing company and, later, added a typesetting company. After 20 years, he sold the companies and, from 1991 to 2002, worked for other printing companies in senior positions before he founded Graphic Consulting.
A disciple of Dr. W. Edwards Deming, the developer of Statistical Process Controls and Total Quality Management, he is a Certified TQM Instructor and Facilitator. Scott has trained thousands of printing industry managers and employees.
In addition to TQM training, Scott also taught the Production Management course for many years and led several seminars at the Printing Institute of New England, as well as seminars at industry shows. He has also authored several magazine articles in trade journals, including New England Printer and Publisher.
In his “spare” time, he loves sports, woodworking, gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. He and his wife, Sandi, have 6 adult children and 12 grandchildren.
